wise inside mindfulness education at your school
Thank you for being interested in offering Wise Inside mindfulness programs at your school.
Here’s how to get started…
Types of School Groups
Junior and Senior Schools
Wise Inside mindfulness classes are offered during class or as after-school programs, often as mental health education.
Typically classes are organized in a three-year age range (e.g. 8- to 10-year-olds) to ensure the language, content and needs of the students are comprehensively met.
Junior school programs focus on learning to identify and name feelings and paying attention to others’ feelings; the three steps to making a wise choice; recognizing unkind mind and kind mind; and learning about self-compassion and gratitude.
Senior school programs focus on tangible skills to address the stress of university applications and anxiety from worrying about the future; healthy competition; difficult relationships and communication; cultivating self-compassion; and clarity of values and goals.
Class size can range from 10 to 30 students in-person or up to 100-plus in an online platform like Zoom. Of course, the smaller the group, the more individual engagement and support.
These are not one-way lectures. From the opening few minutes of the first class, students are asked to participate in activities, exercises and discussions. And students are asked to work with the home practices in between classes and report back on their experiences at the next session.
Mindfulness training develops SEL, growth mindset and academic performance cultures as students train:
Focus and concentration.
How feelings affect mindset.
Curiousity with their practice.
Recognition of what’s going right while applying self-kindness and self-compassion.
Student Boarder Programs
From my time as a boarder at an independent school, I still remember my uniform hanging from the closet door and the view out my window; phone calls home to family and friends; and wondering what was for dinner in the dining hall. And I remember feeling like an outsider when I first arrived, not knowing what to expect or how I would fit into this new community, missing home, and the experience of making new friends.
Boarding student programs practice with the same content as the Junior and Senior school programs, but within the frame of their unique experience living on-campus.
Professional Development & Well-being
This study and this study are just two of many that reveal when teachers learn mindfulness, they not only experience personal benefits such as reduced stress and burnout and greater efficacy in doing their jobs, but their schools benefit from better classroom organization and more emotionally supportive classrooms.
Offering teachers and staff mindfulness training creates a mindful school culture where everyone speaks the same language and can support one another with ongoing practice and discussion.
I work with a collective of exceptional mindfulness, mental health and well-being educators. Let’s discuss the type of professional development program you’re considering!

More on Budgets
My goal is to teach as many children and youth — and the adults who love them — with the mindfulness principles and exercises that have helped me become a more connected human, so I will do my best to develop a program that meets your budget needs by considering the location of your school for in-person classes, or if provided by an online platform.
